Privacy policy

What data we process

  • Contact forms: name, email, website and your details, to prepare the free AI analysis (form “analyse”) and to reply to you. For the analysis we ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google and Claude public buying questions; we do not pass on your email address in doing so.
  • Quick check: the shop address you enter. Our server function retrieves the public pages of that shop once and evaluates them. The result is cached for 10 minutes so that a repeated request does not fetch again. Otherwise we store nothing, and we need no personal data for it.
  • Company search in the form: what you type into the “brand or company” field (from three characters) is sent by our server function to Zefix, the federal commercial register, to suggest matching companies. If you select a company, we send its name, UID and registered office with the form. The suggestions are cached for at most one day, with no link to you as a person.
  • Guide: your email address and, voluntarily, your first name and shop address, to send you the guide. Only if you tick the separate box do we also send you occasional tips and invitations by email. You can withdraw this consent at any time. The request is stored with Netlify Forms. We delete your details on request.
  • Index newsletter: your email address, to send you the index. Unsubscribe at any time.
  • Business contacts: publicly available business details (company, role, business contact address) when we contact companies with a personal analysis. You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you and to delete your data.
  • Server log data: technically necessary data when the website is accessed (IP address, time, browser).

Processors and disclosure abroad

We use service providers for hosting and forms (Netlify, USA), email (Hostpoint, Switzerland, with forwarding to Google Gmail, USA) and fonts (Google Fonts, USA). For providers outside Switzerland we ensure adequate protection, for example through the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

Retention

We keep data only as long as necessary for the purpose or required by law (business records 10 years).

Your rights

You can request information, correction, deletion and the release of your data, and object to processing. Write to hello@shortlisted.ch. You can also complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
